Let’s be honest, Benidorm is not particularly known for the peace and quiet. It’s more of a destination for parties and noise in the British “colony” in Spain.
But, there are quieter parts of Benidorm that even a slow traveller like me enjoyed a lot. Also some of the most beautiful natural areas as well as retreat centres of Spain are close to Benidorm.
In this Where to Stay in Benidorm guide I share you the calmer areas and stays in this destination in Costa Blanca.
As I live in Alicante, I've spent many weekend getaways in the area.

HOTEL
BEST FOR
AVAILABILITY
If you are looking for something else than cheap booze, pool parties and bachelor parties, you should avoid La Carretera: the club area in Benidorm and Calle Gerona of Benidorm.
Generally speaking, the Northern part of Benidorm is all about parties, hotels, and convenience stores.
I do not recommend this part for a mindful holiday.
The best area in Benidorm to stay in for a calmer holiday is at the southern part of Benidorm.
I recommend either staying in one of the hotels listed below, or rent an apartment/villa for yourself.
The Southern area of Benidorm is much calmer without missing out on the cool views from the skyscrapers.
Another great recommendation is to find a dreamy getaway outside of Benidorm, in the nature areas of Spain.

This amazing complex with a huge garden and amazing spa is located a few kilometres from Benidorm.
This is your go-to option, if you want to stay nearby Benidorm to have the option to enjoy the restaurants and nightlife for some evenings, but mostly you are looking for inner zen and relaxation.
Ideal for: Traveller looking to combine retreat vibe to closeness of the city
2. Romantic getaway in Benidorm: Gastrohotel Boutique RH Canfali

This is the vibe you sign up for. Photo from Booking.
This place is a stunning Boutique hotel located in the old town, between the two beaches of Benidorm. It is rated Superb by over 2000 guests on Booking and the hilghlights are stunnign views, great cuisine and romantic vibe.
Ideal for: A couple looking for a special getaway weekend.

Melia Villaitana is a great complex right outside of Benidorm, consistign of multiple outdoor pools, spa and delicious meals.
This please definitely gives a wellness retreat vibe, and is a hotel I keep on going back to.
If this one is available, I definitely recommend giving it a try.
Ideal for: Traveller seeking for relaxation, sun, pool and great meals in serene resort

If you would want to stay in Benidorm and enjoy all its nightlife, restaurants and amenities, but to have a quiet, comfortable hideaway to sleep in, Melia Benidorm is for you.
This 4-star hotel is located next to Sierra Helada which offers stunning hikes and nature areas. If you walk to other direction, you have all the amenities of Benidorm and the beach within walking distance.
Ideal for: Traveller wanting to live the real Benidorm experience, but still to sleep nights calmly without parties and have nature nearby.

This is perhaps one of the highest skyscrapers in Benidorm and it is located nearby this Nomade hotel, so also in queieter area.
If you want to enjoy the high views of Benidorm, this place has amazing rooptop with crazy amazing views over the whole Benidorm.
It's a big hotel complex so there is everything you need.
Only con is the food: I would not recommend taking a full/half board here, as the dinner was not that great quality.
Ideal for: Traveller who wants to enjoy the special skyscraper vibe of Benidorm in calmer area

This hotel is new and in silent area.
It is close to beach and has a nice pool area. It is not a skyscraper hotel, but it comes with calmness, peace and better food compared to some huge hotel complexes.
It is still close to all Benidorm's amenities and restaurants.
Ideal for: someone looking for a stylish but reasonably priced hotel near quiet beach promenade
If you are now overwhelmed by choices and options, pick your hotel from this simplified list:
Best Spa Hotel in Benidorm: Asia Gardens Hotel & Thai Spa
Romantic Getaway: Gastrohotel Boutique RH Canfali
Relaxed leisure: Melia Villaitana
Central Wellness hotel:Melia Benidorm
Scyscraper Spa Hotel:Gran Hotel Bali
Relaxed Beach Hotel:Nomad Hotel Cala Finestrat
A spa hotel simply means a hotel with a spa, whereas a wellness hotel considers also other areas of holistic wellbeing, like nutritious meals, areas to do mindful practices like yoga and breathwork and calm energy of the place. Simply, it’s not trying to be a regular hotel pleasing everyone, but they are specliazed in tranquil or transformative experiences.
Well, it depends completely what you are looking for. But if you are anyhow like me 2-3 nights is enough and then it is nice to escape to some nearby mountains for calmer accommodation.
Personally I've noticed Spanish hotels with all meals included a bit poor in quality. Most of the times you will have the exactly same, large-scale produced meals every day. I recommend booking a hotel with breakfast included, and discover local restaurants for dining.
Yes, there are restaurants, cafeterias and nightlife open all year around in Benidorm.
Summer ins normally the high season and it is also very hot, so I recommend traveling outside the high season. Best months to travel to Benidorm are October-November and February-May. These times you have calmer vibe, but still lots to do and less crowds.
I would not recommend staying in the centre of Benidorm with small kids. I recommend this family-friendly hotel in Albir.
The more northern areas of Benidom, yes. The old town and southern part of Benidorm offers more calm vibe for a getaway.
If for some reason you want to be based in Benidorm, but look for a calmer getaway/activities, check these calmer areas near Benidorm:
Finestrat
Albir
Altea
Villajoyosa
These areas within 40 kms from Benidorm and offer unique, relaxing vibe.
Beach day:
Explore smaller beaches of Costa Blanca for relaxed mood.
Do a day trip to Alicante
Alicante is bigger town near Benidorm, which is worth visiting for culture, dining and authentic Spanish vibe. You can read my Alicante travel guide here.
Visit the picturesque village Altea
Visit the cute, white-painted village in Altea Hills for diffent kind of vibe.
Alternative stays Costa Blanca, not too far from Benidorm
Javea
Albir
Denia
I personally book majority of my hotel stays via Booking.com due to their loyalty program.
Other sites that are easy, reliable and offering good deals for hotels are Trip.com, Agoda, Hostelworld and Klook. At Klook, you can also reserve travel activities and experiences, just like in GetYourGuide.
Another great thing about booking via a hotel booking platform is the possibility to read loads of reviews of other guests.

CHECK ALSO FOR YOUR BENIDORM TRIP:
My favorite restaurants, cafeterias and activities in the sunniest place in Europe, aka Alicante.
Book activities
Browse and book activties online beforehand via Getyourguide, to focus on relaxation and fun during the holiday.
