WHAT SLOW TRAVEL REPEAT IS ABOUT

Life enriching slow travel and mindful lifestyle.

Making conscious travel easier for you.

WHO'S BEHIND THE SLOWTRAVELREPEAT.COM?

The website is founded by Sini Hietaharju, who is passionate about slow travel and a more conscious lifestyle.

Mindful traveling, one destination at a time.

Behind the site is me, Sini Hietaharju.

30-something Finnish girl, who loves to explore the world, photograph, and write spicy travel blogs nomad lifestyle tips and unfiltered journals

for the travel destinations I know most about.

This is the slow travel corner of the internet for hidden gems and slow travel experiences.

The Reason I Started Slow Travel Repeat

I got tired of Instagram, as I'm not much of a "fast videos, flashing lights and sneaky read the caption" video creator, but I prefer having a place for slow content that you can always come back to.

ALL WE NEED IS LESS.

Mindful thoughts and helpful tips just fit better to a static website than to an ever-changing dopamine-rush machine fueled by narcissism, greed, and negativity.

Without further ado, hope my experiences and tips bring you joy to read and can help you avoid doing the mistakes I've learned from during my trips.

Why would I read your random posts, you may ask next?

In this blog you will find my personal experiences from wellness holidays, but also carefully crafted listing of the dreamiest getaways.

You can explore tips by destination, or simply choosing to browse retreats and dreamy accommodations all over the globe.

You can come back weekly to find more wellness travel gems, as I am posting a new article every Thursday!

PS. At www.sinimalism.studio you will find an online movement platform meant for people like me - digital nomads or people living abroad, who struggle to maintain healthy routines easily.

More about Travel Blogger Sini Hietaharju

I have a Master’s degree in Tourism Research and have always loved traveling.

However, in recent years, I have noticed that short trips and being a “tourist” in a beach chair and spending a week in one destination no longer give me as much as travel has to offer.

In my studies within tourism research, I focused on responsible tourism and yoga tourism. Although I am aware of the ecological disadvantages of tourism, I think it is not so black and white.

There are many different ways to travel, and small choices can have an impact as much as is reasonable on an individual level, without sacrificing too much of the travel experience and quality.

That is why I am here – I want to help others make better travel choices easily.

What Slow Travel Repeat means?

I strive to travel slowly, for a long time, and in a present way.

For me, this means avoiding popular destinations and high season, and rather finding unique destinations and enjoyable things to do instead of navigating from one tourist destination to another.

This can mean staying in one destination for longer, trying to understand the culture better and finding unforgettable experiences while traveling.

I will recommend travel destinations where nature and the opportunity for amazing yoga holidays and retreats are possible.

Hidden gems and mindful destinations

slow travel destinations tips

I have also been producing content for both my Instagram and blog for quite some time, and have also worked in digital marketing, so it was high time to start sharing more of my knowledge with you.

During my travels, I've seen wonderful places and learned a lot about it. I don't want to keep the hidden gems and knowledge to myself, but share it with all of you.

What's the point of keeping all my know-how a secret when people like you are looking for similar experiences?

Conscious travel should be easy

I think conscious travel could be clearer and easier, because at the moment I experience two problems with this:

1. Conscious and responsible travel sounds too complicated, as there is no clear information about it, or it is contradictory, or expressed in difficult terms.

2. When talking about conscious travel, the conversation too often turns to blaming individuals and the unecological nature of all travel, and the thought that the only option is not to travel at all.

I think it would be more important to focus on how we can make traveling together a little more conscious and less harmful instead of pointing fingers.

Traveling is about life-enriching experiences without harming nature, people or culture.

I want to help you easily find better travel destinations and choices.

Holidays that actually make you feel rested and happy

Travel broadens your mind and they say that you get worn out on a trip, but isn’t the goal to return home from your vacation relaxed?

My passion is slow and wellness travel. I believe that many others would also like to travel more mindfully or focus on wellness also during vacation, but don't know how or where to start.

My idea is to help make these travel choices easily.
