> Spiritual books for vacation
Traveling is a great time to reflect, learn and see your life from new perspectives.
I tend to read a lot during yoga retreats and longer travels.
On this list, you find the best spiritual books I have read during my journeys.
If the title already gives you an ick, you know it's not a book for you then.
For me this book gave a lot, but I do think you need to be really open-minded and understand something about the law of attraction, energy in the universe and philosophy about yoga beforehand.
Without that you might end up being one of these sour people leaving 1-star reviews in Goodreads.
And yes, I know it's not always that simple to fix complex situations just by thinking higher - but it definitely helps.
Life's 90% about your own attitude in the end. I eman, for instance, Einstein had dyslexia.
I was hesitant whether I should list this book or not.
First time when reading this, I found the perspective very American and annoying storytelling.
However, this popular book definitely has good ideas in it, and is an easy read with relatable points.
For me this one does not seem so deep or transformational, but it is important to have books that tell about these themes also in different tone than most of the self-help books.
This is a deep-dive into understanding the connection between yoga and science, but also between body and energy.
I recommend this especially for all yoga teachers and for anyone interested in mind-body connection and yogic wisdom.
This book was one of the catalysts for me to start this blog and stop using social media for good.
I think we all know the negative effects of social media, yet somehow on our day-to-day life we end up wasting hours on browsing and living only through the screen.
If this theme resonates with you, this book is an interesting read.
This book came to me at free-to-take books section in a library in Helsinki when I was at grossroads of life.
The title in Finnish is actually translated as Tales of Power.
This is a classic from Carlos Castaneda. It is a mystical books about a spiritual journey of becoming "a man of knowledge".
This was a great read to have a bit further perspective on how things are as a human being in 21st century.
Especially if you’re into self-help and optimizing on all the nitty-gritty details of your life, this is good balance for that genre with different point of view on things as a mammal walking on two feet.
This book is pure magic, but at the same time pure science.
If you are looking for a chill and easy read for a holiday, this may not be it, but if you want to understand energy and universe in a new level, this is definitely a must-read.
Sometimes these bestsellers seem to be famous for no reason, but this one is actually great.
I wanted to buy this as an actual book to get back to it, reading a page here and there and using a highlighter to pin the most resonating sentences.
I must-read for anyone willing to set consistent routines or to succeed in life.
(This is very much the principles of my www.sinimalism.studio platform as well: helping people set tiny habits to maintain consistent routines with inspiring challenges.)
It's been a couple of years I read this book, but I had left it a five-star review in Goodreads and reviewed it that I should read it again later, as it was a lot to take in.
The book is about self transformation and finding your purpose in life - so one-week beach vacation may not be enough to digest it all.
This book divides opinions, as I personally loved it in a difficult moment of my life, whereas my boyfriend could not read further than first chapter due to the tone and way of telling.
This is a spiritual book that shares Sonia Choquette's spiritual learnings and reflections, while also giving simple practical advice to recognise at what stage of spiritual path you are at, and what everyday steps to take on that stage.
6. Ikigai: The Japanese secret to a Long and Happy Life
This easy-to-read book from HĂ©ctor GarcĂa about your purpose on life, based on Japanese concept Ikigai is a must-read.
The story-telling structure and simpe way of explaining this life-changing concept makes it a great book for vacation; you can then reflect on it during sunset at the cliffs, with a wine glass discussing with your loved one or share thoughts in a circle at yoga retreat.
This book is also easy to read and bases on Toltec wisdom. These four rules of life have the potential to transform not only this trip, but your whole life.
This classic is worth reading if you have not yet, and unlike many other book on this list that are more of a non-fiction self help books, this is more of a storytelling fiction.
Beautiful story and definitely must-read in a lifetime, but at the same time, a bit overrated considering its popularity.
I have a habit of attracting the right books at the right moment. This book came to me on my trip to Gambia at the hotel receptions book exchange spot I was staying in.
This book is a combination of interviews of Dalai Lama and reflections on Western life by the interviewer Howard C. Cutler, offered at least to me some life-changing perspectives.
I read this classic from Eckhart Tolle in my first yoga teacher training in Romania.
I would say this is an ideal read for mindful travels, and great perspective to take home after the trip as well.
The must-read book about manifestation in easily understanable language.
Finally a manifestation book that focuses on the self-agency and what you can do to creat ethe life you desire, instead of waiting for some random external miracle or power to fix your problems.
One of my favorite new age books.
