Sunset picnic in coastal Portugal

Story behind the photoshoot 👇

We spent August 2025 in Portugal (drove there from Alicante, Spain, so across the whole Iberian Peninsula)

After a week in Lisbon, I had booked us a seaside place in a smaller town up north, Figueira da Foz.

I had a vision of a romantic sunset picnic, wearing a linen set, having a cozy evening with mindful talks, some wine, some strawberries.

You know, the Pinterest vision board kind of moment.

I specifically had taken my white linen set with me, kind of for this moment. :D

BUT I had forgotten my linen shirt to Lisbon, which was now about 300 kms away.

I know, not a big deal, but for me and my vision, it was a big deal.

So we drove to the nearest city that had a mall, and I managed to find and purchase the same matching linen shirt that I had forgotten to Lisbon.

This night was magical. We had the whole beach pretty much for ourselves.

We did some photography, I took some video timelapses, we ran to the sea in golden light, getting the white linen pants sandy and wet.

Ate some strawberries, sat in awe looking around us while sipping cava.

A couple with a happy dog passed by, and another couple walked along the beach.

Other than that, we had the calm beach for us, in the middle of busiest tourist season, mid-August.

This was a small Portuguese travel moment that I will remember.

Valentine's Day in small town in Northern Italy

It’s been so nice to be here today.

Almost seems like we are a couple who has their sh*t together and plan things well beforehand, as this is so ideal.

So we are on our way to Oman (which is also random, because we pretty much let the universe, and Skyscanner decide where do we go for holidays.)

But basically we just happen to bee in Milan now on Valentine’s, as direct flight to Oman is from here, from Milan, tomorrow.

It’s so amazing how we now got to have also a romantic, ideal little Valentine’s celebration.

It’s actually during the Olympics in Milan now that I am writing this. For this reason, we decided to go to a very cozy Wellness B&B outside of Milan, to not to go to the busy city for a night.

We wanted a slow travel vibe (as always) so it just sounded more appealing to spend a night in a tiny town nearby, with gym and sauna.

We did a nice walk through the town of Besnate (rubbed the cutest doggo ever), and then a workout at the gym here.

Afterwards we headed to the only restaurant in town (kind of ideal for not needing to choose :D) and had super good good, service and wine.

I couldn't resist sharing a Tiramisu for desert, and that was heavenly.

Tomorrow we will have a late night flight, so we requested a late checkout.

So staying here until 6pm, probably will be writing, working out and going to sauna.

And then we will have a night flight to Muscat, Oman.

2. Hot summer days in Lisbon

It’s hard to get more laidback and inspired vibe than what summer in Lisbon gives.

The city is actually enormous, and hosts loads of tourists, but the buzzing vibe combined with old buildings, sunset cruise and 30 degrees celsius after midnight is just something magical.

I recommend at least:

  • Spending a slow morning in one of the many cozy cafeterias with a book

  • Going for a sunset cruise

  • Walking around with no rush and visiting some viewpoints

  • Having a glass of wine in one of the many cozy corner bars

  • Finding a place with live music and just chilling in the hot Portuguese summer night

3. Road trip in Italian Tuscany

On October, we decided to do the most delicious trip ever: roadtrip to Italian Tuscany.

We flew to Rome and rented a car for a week, visiting vineyards, cute roads and the most delicious Italian restaurants.

I started calling myself an apostle, as I needed bread, wine and olive oil every evening. (How can something so simple taste so good?!?)

Although the fields had already been harvested in October in Tuscany, and it wasn’t so green as normally, it was still so pretty.

All the cute, ancient villages, tastiest family restaurants and roads surrounded by iconic cypress trees - travel photographer’s dream.

If Tuscany, Italy was not on your mindful travel bucketlist yet, now it’s time to add it.

4. Datenight in Firenze

Firenze is ideal for:

🎨 Culture lovers who enjoy lingering

🍝 Food romantics (not fast foodies)

🧘‍♀️ Creatives & soul-seekers

At the end of a road trip day we ended up in Firenze just before sunset.

This old, historic and stunning capital of Tuscany was lovely, but to be honest, quite touristy in some parts.

Firenze is anyhow worth a visit, and for us it was perfect ending for the roadtrip day to have a nice pasta dinner, before driving back to our accommodation about 2 hours south from Firenze.
