Morocco is a versatile destination and I think it’s a shame to see only one place during your stay in this lieral Muslim country in Northern Africa.
I lost count if I’ve been 7 or 8 times in Morocco, yet here I have concluded all the destinations I recommend from Morocco and why.
If you were to ask my favorite place in Morocco, it’s definitely the Moroccan part of Sahara.
The magical golden dunes are a must-see. I recommend booking a stay at the desert overnight, so you can enjoy stargazing, sand rolling/sand surfing, Berber dinner, live music and the magic of desert.
And I highly recommend getting there by camel.
This cute village up in mountains is for you if you’re into photography.
The town is completely painted blue and has loads of nice riads to stay in and restaurant to dine.
I recommend staying here 1-3 nights.
Ps. If you occasionally feel too touristy, just step out of the "Blue area" and things get much more local fast (and also prices drop drastically).
This impressive mountain range offers scenic hiking trails, traditional Berber villages, and panoramic views that captivate nature lovers and adventurers alike.
I recommend booking a guided hiking tour in Atlas Mountains.
Marrakech can be quite a lot to take in with its salesy, super vivid and touristy vibes. Yet I think it’s a must-experience thing as well on your trip to Morocco.
There are also great museum and Palaces to visit, as well as super cute riads to stay at.
A charming coastal town known for its laid-back vibe, historic medina, and beautiful beach.
Essaouira is perfect for exploring art galleries, trying seafood, and enjoying water sports such like windsurfing, or even a camel ride by the beach.
As Morocco’s largest city, Casablanca offers a blend of modernity and tradition.
Visit the stunning Hassan II Mosque, stroll along the Corniche, and explore the city’s French colonial architecture.
This cool town with a labyrinthine medina, Fez is a cultural hub steeped in history.
Visit the University of Al Quaraouiyine, the oldest university in the world, and enjoy the city’s rich artisan traditions.
I combined these 3 destinations in one, as they are quite close to each other.
Located in the heart of Morocco’s southern landscape, these stunning destinations offer a mix of ancient architecture and natural beauty.
Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a striking fortified village with mud-brick ksars that have appeared in many films.
Just a short drive away, the Dades Valley, known as the "Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs," presents dramatic rock formations and lush oasis landscapes, perfect for road trips.
Further east, Todra Gorge offers a spectacular canyon with towering rock walls and a river below, making it a popular destination for hiking and rock climbing.
The capital of Morocco, Rabat is a blend of history and modernity, featuring sites like the Hassan Tower, the Royal Palace, and the serene Kasbah of the Udayas, set by the Atlantic Ocean.
A dynamic port city with a unique European and Moroccan cultural mix, Tangier offers rich history, views over the Strait of Gibraltar, and attractions like the Kasbah Museum and Café Hafa.
Famous for its broad sandy beach, year-round sunshine, and modern amenities, Agadir is perfect for relaxation, water sports, and enjoying the scenic seafront promenade.
This is what I mean when I say Morocco is a versatile destination.
Dubbed "Little Switzerland," Ifrane stands out for its alpine-style architecture and cool climate.
It’s known for snowy winters and lush, green summers, making it a popular getaway.
An imperial city that boasts impressive historical sites such as Bab Mansour and the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail.
One of Morocco’s most beautiful natural attractions, the Ouzoud Waterfalls offer stunning cascades surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife, including playful monkeys.
Perfect for hiking and picnicking.
Want to know how on earth to combine all of these for a trip or at least make an itinerary of the top destinations?
Stay tuned for 1 and 2-week Morocco trip itinerary that will be published here soon.
