As a travel blogger it should not be my interest to give my job to AI, but well, I want to give you the actually best tips, so here goes: best AI prompts to plan your trip.
Please note that AI may not always be smart, as it is articficial as we know. So always take the tips with a pinch of salt and do also some Google searches to see if the tips are valid.
But I gotta admit these are some lazy planner’s dream prompts.
Prompt:
I’m visiting [destination]. Suggest 5 off-the-beaten path spots that locals love and tourists miss.
I tested this already for some destinations that I know, to see if the AI gave actually good tips or not. You can check them here:
Prompt:
Plan a [time-frame, eg. 7-day] itinerary for [destination].Include must-visit attractions, dining recommendations, and optimal travel routes.
To be very honest, in this real travel bloggers can still recommend you stuff AI does not know about.
However, as a general itinerary, it’s great to start with AI. This way you get a nice structure for your trip and you can just improve and add on it from there, instead of starting from scratch.
You can compare these articles:

Prompt:
I’m travelling to [destination] in [season].
Create a packing list with essentials and items I might not think of.
You can also download for free my personal packing checklist I use when travelling with only hand luggage.
Prompt:
I have a budget of [insert amount]. Suggest affordable activities, restaurants, and accommodations in [destination].
This can work quite well if the destination is big enough, but in small places, like villages in Finnish Lapland, this is kind of useless.
Prompt:
Here’s my issue: [insert the problem, for example lost passport, missed connection flight etc.]. Suggest step-by-step solutions to fix it.
This is kind of cool when you're solo traveling and something unexpected happens that you can't solve. It makes you feel like you're not alone with the problem. :D
Prompt:
Teach me 5 essential phrases in [language] to help me navigate in [destination]. Include pronunciation tips.

Prompt:
Cultural etiquette cheat sheet
What customs, dos, and don’ts should I know before visiting [destination]? Help me avoid cultural mistakes.
This can be really useful in some countries. If you want to read my tongue-on-cheek version from Finland and Lapland, you can read these not-so-serious articles:
